Motivis Learning announced today that it has joined Pledge 1%. Pledge 1% is a corporate philanthropy movement dedicated to making the community a key stakeholder in every business. Founded by Atlassian, the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Colorado, Rally Software and the Salesforce Foundation, Pledge 1% empowers companies to donate 1% of product, 1% of equity, 1% of profit and 1% of employee time to improve communities around the world.

Motivis Learning is an educational technology company that is now developing the next-generation learning platform for K-12 and higher education. Born out of the innovation lab at Southern New Hampshire University, which last year launched the competency-based College for America, Motivis is led by the team that developed the competency-based learning platform for CfA.

Motivis is joining an impressive network of entrepreneurs and companies across the globe that have committed their philanthropic efforts through the Pledge 1% movement. By pledging at least 1% of their product and their development time, Motivis is looking forward to demonstrating their commitment to philanthropic leadership.

One of the first products Motivis Learning has donated to enable student success is their ePortfolio tool, which allows both students and adults in the workforce to showcase their traditional credentials, as well as relevant projects, research papers, videos, Power Point presentations and more. Over 400 students at Drexel University’s WorkReady program and job pipeline program are using the tool to easily and professionally present themselves to prospective schools and employers.

“From our experiences connecting youth and adults with real career opportunities, we know that many people have great difficulty keeping, organizing and accessing items essential for a successful job search — like resumes, credentials, and cover letters” explains Michael Eleey, Lead Consultant for the Digital On-Ramps project at Drexel University. “The ePortfolio allows learners and job seekers to easily collect and manage digitally all of their relevant evidence, from resumes to videos and more, and share selected items securely and electronically with targeted opportunities.”

As a young, pre-revenue company, Motivis has put giving back to the community at the forefront of its corporate values.
